  • Students, if you need help with your classwork or homework, After School Tutoring is held in Room 266 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.


  • Students, don’t forget: The Peace Room is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:30-2pm to any student needing support and a safe space to assist with mental health concerns. Check your Canvas to sign up or ask Mrs. Coley!



  • The Sister Cities Association of Springfield (SCAS) will be sponsoring a high school student delegation to Ashikaga, Japan from June 21 to June 30, 2025.

The delegation will include high school students and 2 chaperones. Information and application materials can be found on the SCAS website:

  • Any senior athlete who is planning on playing a sport next year in college, please stop by the main office and pick up a Signing Day Information Form.  This form must be completed and turned in to Mr. Barnes no later than 3:30 on Friday, May 16th.  If you do not turn in a form, you will not be recognized.


  • Feminist club is collecting essential items for local homeless support groups. Scan the QR code on promotional signs for acceptable items. Donations may be dropped off in Main office until April 30.


  • Prom Guest Permission forms are available in the guidance office for juniors and seniors who wish to bring a date from another school. Forms are due to the guidance office by Thursday, April 24th at 3:30 p.m. Forms must be filled out entirely and turned in on time for guests to be considered. Furthermore, all guests must have a photo ID with them to be admitted to either event. Guests must arrive with and remain with their date at all times for both prom and after prom. 


Juniors and Seniors, Prom Tickets are being sold THIS week during A and B lunch shifts in the Commons. Tickets are $25 each or $30 each at the door on Saturday. Payment must be in the form of cash or checks made payable to Springfield High School. If you are bringing a guest, make sure to pick up a guest form from guidance as soon as possible! Completed forms are due back to guidance TOMORROW by 3:30- no exceptions!


  • Student Council Spirit Week - everyone can participate, please remember all outfits must be school appropriate.

  • Possibly interested in going into education or thinking of working in a school in some capacity? LLCC and UIS are hosting District 186 schools for a Painting Education Differently field trip for sophomores and juniors to explore options to work in education. The field trip will be most the day May 8th. If interested, permission slips will be available in the Guidance Office and are due back next Monday. See Mr. Kramer with questions.  


  • 7 & Senators auditions will be held on Wednesday, May 7th at 2:30 in the Auditorium. Please come prepared to sing the National Anthem a cappella. We will teach you a portion of a song as well.


  • Cold Brew Coffee is back and will be offered during both lunch shifts on Thursday.


  • If you like Chipotle, come support Be A Senator Club tonight!  BAS will host a fundraiser tonight from 4-8 PM. Mention SHS-Be A Senator when you order or show them the flyer that should be posted on your “Class Of” Canvas page. Proceeds will go toward Be A Senator student rewards and events.


  • The baseball team came out on the short end of another close one, losing 2 to 1 to the Warriors of Granite City yesterday at their place. The Senator pitching was solid overall, as Caiden Bietsch went 5 innings allowing only 2 runs on 4 hits, and A.J. Ozier closed the door getting out of a tough one out jam in the 6th with runners on 2nd and 3rd giving the Senators a chance. Lucas Richardson paced the offense with a double followed by a single and two stolen bases by Jeffrey Sturm. Liam Watts drove in the lone Solon run in the first when Brody Scheffler scored after singling to get things started. Next up is a 4:30 CS8 contest today against Washington Street rival SHG at their place.


  • The boys track and field team competed at the Hickman Invite at Southeast HS school last night.  Top finishers for SHS were: Micah Bonansinga 5th in the 200; Felix Vanmetre 4th in the 3200; the 4x200 relay team of Robert Atanda, Kenny Banta-Taylor, Jeremiah Brown and Richawn Crawford finished 5th; and the 4x400 relay team of Isaac Alexander, Brandon Moody, Vedant Patel, and Joel Ramirez finished 5th.  The boys next compete on Saturday at the Lanphier Invite. 


  • The Springfield High School Boys Tennis Junior Varsity Team recently played Sacred Heart-Griffin and Glenwood.  In singles, Ian Delcomyn and Ryan Hayes won. While in doubles, the teams of Ben Cliburn/Ben Perry, Aaryaa Prashanth/Abdul Qushi, Mox Amin/Ian Delcomyn, Wola Adenipebi/Aaryaa Prashanth, Will Eichinger/Grant Pressnall and Eric Dong/Mox Amin emerged victorious.  Good job by everyone who played.


  • The Springfield softball team upped their record to 11 and 2 last night with a victory over Eisenhower. Mia Volpert, Erin Stoops, Bella Pagliara, Emma Marcum, Milan Robinson and Morgan Leininger all collected hits in the game. The girls play SHG in a non conference game tonight at SHG. Good luck ladies!


  • The varsity soccer team improved to 12-1 and stayed undefeated in the CS8 with a 6-0 victory over SHG. Kamryn Hoffman, Bridget Lyons, Addie Maddox ,Zoe Wall and Kalyn Burton scored for the Senators. Madison Clark, Zoe Wall, Bridget Lyons, and Kamryn Hoffman  picked up assists. Emma Allen, Rylee Clark, Madison Clark, Annabelle Bilyeu, Ainsley Lambert and Lucy Ambrose had another outstanding game on defense. Lydia Auble earned the shut-out.
