The Sister Cities Association of Springfield (SCAS) will be sponsoring a high school student delegation to Ashikaga, Japan from June 21 to June 30, 2025.
The delegation will include high school students and 2 chaperones. Information and application materials can be found on the SCAS website:

ACT and Pre-ACT test day is coming on April 16th! Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors should pick up their parent permission forms from their English teacher. Freshmen, Sophomores & Juniors - your signed slip allows you to leave directly after the Pre ACT or ACT. Seniors - your signed slip allows you to leave a few minutes early on the 15th and then be out of school on the 16th. All forms are due in guidance by April 11th at 3:30.

This form must be completed and turned in to Mr. Barnes no later than 3:30 on Friday, May 16th. If you do not turn in a form, you will not be recognized.

Seniors! It's time to vote for 2024-2025 Senior Superlatives. Please fill out the form on your class Canvas page to vote by April 15. Make sure you follow the directions on the form carefully. Ballots that are not filled out correctly will not be counted. You need to use your school e-mail to fill out the form and can only vote once. Any jokes or inappropriate responses will not be tolerated. Winners will be contacted by yearbook staff to take a photo at a later date. All voters and winners must be graduating seniors. The softball team picked up a big conference win over Normal U High last night 6 to 2. Erin Stoops helped get things started with a huge RBI double in the 2nd inning. Mia Volpert had a big day at the plate going 3 for 4 with 4 RBI’s, including a 2 run home run. Volpert was strong in the circle, striking out 15 batters while allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run. Stoops had 2 hits and Bella Pagliara had a hit and a run scored. Good job girls!
The Springfield High School Boys Tennis Team claimed a convincing 8-1 victory yesterday against Quincy Notre Dame. In singles, Krish Khurana, Jai Khurana, Matthew Sommer, Rohan Ugrappa and Bennett Nelson won. While in doubles, the teams of Krish Khurana/Jai Khurana, Rohan Ugrappa/Matthew Sommer and Faaiz Qureshi/Bennett Nelson emerged victorious.
In Junior Varsity action, Eric Dong, Faaiz Qureshi, Quan Dickirson and Suman Poola won at singles while the team of Charlie Holzmacher/Anshul Nagrecha claimed a victory at doubles. Good job by everyone who played.
The baseball team showed great improvements in their aggressiveness at the plate last night, but they still came up short in a 6 to nothing loss to U-High. For the second straight day the Senators kept it close by being down only 3 zip going into the 7th, but the Pioneers pulled away with 3 more in the top of the final frame. Solid pitching performances were turned in by A.J. Ozier and Karter Marks, along with a quick closing effort from Tyler Elliott. Liam Watts led the offensive attack with 2 hits, but that was also the total that the Solons produced for the day. Next up is a 4:30 game tomorrow against Pleasant Plains at Robin Roberts Stadium.
